Andro, a newly successful queer hip-hop artist, descends into a chaotic, drug-fueled reality that fuses the past, present and future.

On the Floor

Written and Directed by Corey Koepper

Andro’s quest to discover a more authentic self is set to pulsating music and hypnotic colours. Still, underneath, it is all a story of finding a sense of purpose and understanding that is more important than ever in a diverse world.

The film is deliberately stylized and enigmatic, but within its layers, there is a deeper awareness of the conflicts that many young people face today. Inspired by Sci-Fi, punk and new wave filmmaking, 'On the Floor' showcases the pressures of finding yourself amid the confusion of both what you were and what you can be.

Driven by pulsating music and bold, non-linear storytelling, the 16-minute short film explores the struggle to find a sense of self in a fractured world that is continuously in flux.
